More On The Guilt

Modern Guilt will have a bonus track on iTunes, called “Vampire Voltage No. 6.”

All the songs are credited to Beck, except “Walls” which DangerMouse co-wrote, and there’s a sample on it by Piot & Guiot.

Still no idea what happened to “Beggar’s Shoes.”

Beck played two shows last week, and cancelled a third (due to illness).

A few new dates were added to the North America tour in August/September:

August 21 – Reno, NV with Devendra Banhart
August 22 – San Francisco, CA Outside Lands Festival
August 24 – Bend, OR
August 27 – Victoria, BC with Band Of Horses
August 28 – Vancouver, BC with Band Of Horses
August 30 – Seattle, WA Bumbershoot Festival
September 19 – San Diego, CA Street Scene Festival
September 20 – Hollywood, CA with Spoon and MGMT
September 27 – Austin, TX ACL Festival

hopefully more will get added soon… Europe tour starts in a week or so too…

Where have you heard about this iTunes bonus song, “Vampire Voltage No. 6″? Because when I checked iTunes, the only pre-order bonuses mentioned are an immediate download of “Chemtrails,” an exclusive video for “Gamma Ray,” a digital booklet and a concert ticket presale password, which was mirrored in a bulletin post from Beck’s MySpace page.

I’ve checked online and haven’t heard about this mystery song on any other sites, blog posts, etc. As Johnny No. 5 once said, “Need input! More input!”

Yea, we’re in the same boat as you MEGUMI. I trust my source–it’s possible the track is only a bonus in the UK. But I’m not sure why it’s not listed on iTunes either, so it may or may not be true. I doubt my source was making it up, so the song exists–where it ends up needs to be verified.

Indeed “Walls” does sample Paul Guiot and Paul Piot. It is a song called “Amour, Vacances et Baroque”. I confirmed it by listening to the stream of Walls on modernguilt.com

This is available on the album: Barry 7’s connectors volume 1

Seems Beggar’s Shoes became Gamma Ray http://rulefortytwo.com/2008/07/02/the-old-pollution/ and Vampire Voltage No. 6 is available as a bonus track on the Swedish iTunes.
