Notes:
On this day, there were four concerts around Los Angeles, all to benefit Artists' Rights, a new organization supporting musicians. There was a country show (Dixie Chicks, Alan Jackson), a giant classic rock show (Eagles, Sheryl Crow, Billy Joel, Elton John), an alternative show (Weezer, Offspring, No Doubt) and this, a cool show (Beck, Eddie Vedder, Mike Ness).
"If It's Monday Morning," though, kicked everything off, as the Beck, Vedder and Ness each sang a verse.
Then Beck and Ness left, and Eddie Vedder did his own set. During Vedder's set, Beck came out to duet on "Sleepless Nights."
Mike Ness' set went next, and members of Pearl Jam came out to play with him (no Beck though).
Beck's set had a couple of solo songs, and then he brought out his band (JMJ, Smokey and Jon Brion). If I recall reports right, they all swapped instruments quite a bit, they didn't just stick to their normal ones.
Also, Eddie Vedder came out to sing back-up on "Little Hands" and "Evil Things," a song Beck intended to take to the Sea Changes sessions (a week later), but never got around to recording.
Then, Thom Yorke came out of nowhere and sang a Velvet Underground song with Beck.
Then Vedder, Ness, Beck and everyone closed down the show with a big singalong on The Rolling Stones' "Sweet Virginia."
