Beck made an unannounced surprise appearence during DJ Z-Trip's set at Coachella. JMJ was with him, and described it:
"Yeah, we played a few songs. Z-trip did his DJ set, and at the end, he spun "Where It's At", and stopped it after a minute. Then he said, "let's just bring Beck out". Then he rocked some beats while Beck rapped and I played the bassline. It was funny. Then, we played a couple of acoustic songs, "Pay No Mind", "Lonesome Whistle" and "Asshole", then out. It was a fun little interlude. Thankfully the beat-crazy DJ culture didn't throw rocks and bottles at us and we were able to mellow it for a minute."
