This tiny string of shows around Southern California came after a fairly long break off the stage. I believe Beck would go in and record Sea Change a week after them, in early March. He had also spent some of the winter recording with Dan The Automator, of which nothing ever came (or was released anyway).
The shows varied a little bit: this one was low-key, solo acoustic, I believe.
He did test out some of the material he would take into the Sea Change sessions, though not as much as you'd think: "Guess I'm Doin' Fine" and "Round The Bend" made their live debuts.
