The Boot is a college bar near Tulane University (and a somewhat notorious one, at least today).
When Beck finally returned to New Orleans 20 years after this show, there were a few articles about the long gap in time. One of them referred to this as a "solo acoustic" gig, and it may be possible that the show in Houston the night before and this were without band, who join him in Atlanta for the next gig.
