This was a benefit gig for Lutefisk, who have opened for Beck in the past (and he for them). Their lead singer, Dallas Don, also drummed for Beck a bit in like 1992-1993. The benefit was because Lutefisk's recording gear and instruments had been stolen, so this show was held to help them afford new ones.
The Foo Fighters were a surprise opener (in one of their very first performances!).
Also, this was the very first show ever at Spaceland.
One blogger recalled, "Beck went on. He was still a performance artist at this time, and near the end of the show, he put a walkie-talkie up to the microphone, and went into the bathroom with the other walkie-talkie and interviewed a guy peeing."
