Beck performed acoustically at this event, a Post-Premiere Party sponsored by Apple, Entertainment Weekly, and Sundance Celebrate Independent. Although more songs were certainly played, 'Loser' was definitely done.

The first time I saw Beck play was about five years ago at the Sundance film festival in Park City, Utah. He opened for a reunited DEVO. The concert was sponsored by Apple computers. The audience was pure industry types - as in, most people were "too cool" to clap. I stood in front of the stage. Beck was playing acoustic and wearing the whole Dylan/Young harmonica headset. Great show. Later that night I drove Beck and several filmmakers back to Park City in my rented SUV. It was snowing deep, and two of the passengers were smoking weed. Long story short, I was "hot-boxed" and got quite stoned. Needless to say, I got lost... We ended up in Provo, Utah. Beck sprung for four "emergency" hotel rooms for the four of us. In the morning we rode into Park City. Beck was so cool about the whole incident.
