Date: October 20, 2002
Leg: Sea Change Tour with Flaming Lips, First Leg
Venue: Massey Hall
City: Toronto
Province: Ontario
Country: Canada
Notes:
Show #24 of the Sea Change tours.
Show #4 of Beck/Flaming Lips tour.
Everything before "The Golden Age" was part of Beck's solo acoustic set.
Everything after "The Golden Age" was with the Lips (except "Nobody's Fault").
Tour debut of "Lazy Flies" and "Sunday Sun."
Beck is talkative during his acoustic set, but in a very bored way. He goes on about his trouble crossing the border into Canada, riding around in Dave Matthews high-tech tour bus, hair metal band Nitro, and he takes requests (but only does one verse of "Rowboat"). "I'm a bursting font of enthusiasm," Beck admits. Later he admits he's a little dazed. Because of this, there are a number of iffy reviews of Beck's performance in the media later.; Tonight is the first time "Sunday Sun" was played with the Flaming Lips -- sounds really great.; Excellent quiet songs tonight: "Jack-ass," "The New Pollution," "Little One."
