Notes:
Show #16 of the Sea Change tours. Show #16 of the Sea Change Warm Up Tour, with Smokey Hormel.
Despite Beck being in a chatty mood with the audience, the show is a pretty somber, serious set (songs 1-5, 12-17, for instance); After "Guess I'm Doing Fine," Beck has an audience member come give him a massage, as Smokey had gone to a spa earlier that day. Smokey plays some massage music and makes whale sounds.; Really long "Tropicalia" jam.; After "Sunday Sun," Beck gets nostalgiac. He explains he used to write "all these funny songs" to keep people in coffee shops paying attention to him. "So believe me, I don't take for granted the luxury of you sitting, listening to me play." He then tells the story of Steve at the carnival, and tries to remember "Steve Threw Up." After that, he also tries to remember some of "Fume."
Tour debut of "Steve Threw Up" and "Fume."
Only "Steve Threw Up" and "Fume" on the August 2002 Tour.
