Notes:
This was the first show on the first leg of the European Tour of Midnite Vultures. It was part of a festival called Super Bock Super Rock, which in 2000 was something like 29 concerts over 2 weeks in 3 cities. Beck and Beth Orton did a show in Lisbon for it.
For some reason, my bootleg is missing the first and last songs, don't know if they are unavailable on the recording or I'm just lacking. The show seems to have been broadcast on TV or the radio or something, but despite that, it's a little fuzzed out, with some staticy bursts here and there. Otherwise, it's clear and nice.
Thge show itself is pretty rowdy! Most MV shows were, but this seems very much like an exercise in controlled chaos. "Milk & Honey," "Minus" ("this ain't no disco! this is rock and roll! flying high again!" is Beck's intro), "Pressure Zone," embody this well. Beck's falsetto on "Debra" is pretty perfect. "Pay No Mind," "Take Off Your Pants" and "Dead Melodies" were a brief acoustic set in the middle of the rowdiness. ("Take off your pants" was something someone shouted at Beck, and he turned it into a song, sort of.) Ends on a fairly standard note, with "Jack-ass," "Where It's At," "Sexx Laws," "Devils Haircut" -- a fun run but pretty typical.
