Notes:
A press release for this leg of the tour listed a show in Baltimore for this night. But it seems to have been replaced by this show in Virginia (about an hour away), for reasons I don't know.
We have noted this as a soundboard, and I think it probably is. The quality is not as crystal clear as that sometimes implies, but yea, I don't think this is an audience recording. Not sure where it came from.
Anyway, as I've said throughout my comments, these 1997 shows brought the energy. "Welcome to our orgy!" Beck shouts after "Devils Haircut." Beck continues on this theme throughout the show, mentioning the orgy between songs. Otherwise this feels a pretty typical show for the time. Am I becoming jaded? Don't get me wrong, it's a real good show, it's just all shows by this point of the Odelay tour were.
"Derelict" sounds like it falls apart in the beginning, but because of that, it was my favorite song of the show (they bring it back together with a bit of fire to it). Also the "One Foot" is cool, as Beck starts ad-libbing a bunch of blues ("what can you do when you wake up in the morning and lo and behold, you've got one foot in the grave?!"). Also I like hearing "Loser" and "Beercan" back to back.
Acoustic set starts with "Asshole" and goes through "Hollow Log."
