Notes:
"Greetings! We have lowered the anchor in the musty sewage of this fair town. We have dropped this anchor and placed our faith in the heathen loins and the salty air. We have dropped our load on a passage of mystery! Presently we will settle in for awhile."
With these words, Beck kicks of one of the classicest, most legendary bootlegs/shows of his career. The famed Amsterdam 1996 show! The whole show is full of Beck making little speeches about dropping anchors, seacaptains, setting sail, pirate talk. And the sound quality is perfect, AND the show is jawdroppingly good.
Absolutely nasty "Fuckin With My Head" kicks everything off, and it just keeps going from there. The Odelay tour had just started a couple weeks before, and the new songs still have that freshness to them. Full band "Pay No Mind" and "Rowboat"? Yes please. Crazy acoustic set ("No Money No Honey," for realz?!). Who knows what "She Fucked Me Up The Ass" is, but does it matter? Early "Debra". Seriously.
