Date: May 1, 2016
Event: Beale Street Music Festival
Leg: Post-Morning Phase Leg 5 (Spring US Festivals)
Venue: Tom Lee Park
City: Memphis
State: Tennessee
Country: United States
Notes:
Beck was scheduled to play the night before this in New Orleans at the Jazz Festival, but bad weather forced a cancellation.
Beck previously played Beale Street Festival in Memphis in 1994! Tonight was notable for two reasons. First, it was Beck's first show after Prince died -- and so "Raspberry Beret" made a rare full band appearance in the set, and the band included a little of "Erotic City" and "1999" during "Where It's At."
Second, it was Justin Meldal-Johnsen's final show with the band, as he leaves to focus on his budding producing career and young family. Beck and the guys made mention of this through the show. (JMJ has left the group before and returned, but for the foreseeable time being, he will be replaced.)
