Date: May 19, 2015
Leg: Post-Morning Phase Leg 1 (Southern US)
Venue: North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center
City: North Charleston
State: South Carolina
Country: United States
Notes:
Beck played for the first time in South Carolina tonight, the 4th show of this little tour leg.
The bootleg is sort of muddy, but does seem to clear up a bit as it goes. Solid show too, with a pretty long setlist (as Beck tells the crowd, "We rarely get down here so we'll cover a lot"). The set is highlighted by the first "Go It Alone" in awhile--never really a common song on stage, it probably can be considered a deep cut. [Update: This show started it, but "Go It Alone" became a regular song after this point for a number of years.]
"Wave" gets tried for the only time on this leg; with the smaller 5-man band, maybe it was tougher to recreate quite right (as they had no trouble in 2014 with 7 musicians). "Lonesome Whistle" gets a nice reception because it mentions South Carolina in the first line; unsure if Beck made this connection or was just playing one of his favorite songs!
