For years, we just had this listed as taking place at the Transmusicales in Rennes. This was half-correct. Turns out it was a music festival called Rencontres Trans Musicales, which takes place at 4-5 different venues throughout the city of Rennes.

Beck closed the first night at La CitÉ, which looks to be the second-tier venue (another one had bigger acts). Headliners/big names for the weekend included Portishead, Massive Attack, The Black Crowes, Wayne Kramer, and Shellac. Opening for Beck at La Cite was Vic Chesnutt and a couple of, I believe, French groups.
