Original Performance: MGMT

Lyrics:Electric Feel [Live version (a)]:
from MGMT's original:
All along the western front
People line up to receive
She got the power in her hand
To shock you like you won't believe
Saw her in the Amazon
With the voltage running through her skin
Standing there with nothing on
She gonna teach me how to swim
Said ooh, girl, shock me like an electric eel
Baby girl, turn me on with your electric feel
I said ooh, girl, shock me like an electric eel
Baby girl, turn me on with your electric feel
All along the eastern shore
Put your circuits in the sea
This is what the world is for
Making electricity
You can feel it in your mind
Oh, you can do it all the time
Plug it in and change the world
You are my electric girl
Said ooh, girl, shock me like an electric eel
Baby girl, turn me on with your electric feel
I said ooh, girl, shock me like an electric eel
Baby girl, turn me on with your electric feel
Do what you feel now
Electric feel now
Do what you feel now
Electric feel now
Do what you feel now
Electric feel now
Do what you feel now
Electric feel now
Do what you feel now
Electric feel now
The Song:"Electric Feel" is a song by the band MGMT, off their album,
Oracular Spectacular. [

MGMT was Beck's opening act for a leg of the
Modern Guilt tour in 2008.
Also MGMT's original version REALLY reminds me of
Midnite Vultures. It has a similar type of riff and momentum, though it is just a bit more electro than MV, and also some oddly sexual lyrics.

Earliest known live version:
September 25, 2008Latest known live version:
October 3, 2008Both time Beck played "Electric Feel" it was with both his own band and MGMT. The first was at a post-show coffee shop jam on September 28, 2008. It was an informal spontaneous show, and MGMT joined Beck's band and did "Electric Feel."
Then a few weeks later, Beck, his band and MGMT all played a radio show together in Chicago. The set was full of classic rock covers about the wind (they were in the Windy City, see), but they did do "Electric Feel" as well. (They also did another MGMT song, "
Time To Pretend."
I haven't heard either version, bootlegs haven't surfaced from either show yet...
