Lyrics:Ramblin' Round [Version (a)]:
Ramblin' round your city
Ramblin' round your town
Na na na
As I go ramblin' round, Lord
As I go ramblin' round
Ramblin' round your city
Ramblin' round your town
Never see a face I know
As I go ramblin' round, Lord
As I go ramblin' round
A woman, my mother never thought
I'd grow up a man of some renown
I ain't got a single dime
As I go ramblin' round, Lord
As I go ramblin' round
Ramblin' round your city
Ramblin' round your town
Never see a face I know
As I go ramblin' round, Lord
As I go ramblin' round
The Song:"Ramblin' Round" is a Woody Guthrie song, originally.
Beck's cover can be found on an old tape from circa 1990. It consists of an informal recording of what seems to be a house party or something, where Beck and a few others sing old songs together. Naturally, this included quite a few Woody Guthrie songs.
Beck doesn't quite appear to know "Ramblin' Round" too well, beyond the one main verse. The other verse he tries sort of combines a few of Woody's, and there were a bunch others in the original too. Still it's a nice rendition, as are most of his Woody covers on the tape.
