Lyrics:Bye And Bye I'm Goin' To See The King [Version (a)]:
Bye and bye, I'm goin' to see the King
Bye and bye, I'm goin' to see the King
Bye and bye, I'm goin' to see the King
When my dying time comes
Bye and bye, I'm goin' to see the King
Goin' to see the King
Bye and bye, I'm goin' to see the King
Bye and bye
Well I seen Him coming, glory to His children
I seen Him coming, glory to His children
I seen Him coming, glory to His children
When my dying time comes
The Song:This is a Blind Willie Johnson song, from 1929. (

Beck's cover appears on the
Beck + Dava tape, which seems to be a home party, which was informally caught on tape. Beck sings a bunch of covers, and this is one of them (near the end, he does a series of 3 Blind Willie covers in rapid succession). His version here is heavily strummed, Beck hasn't quite got the tender blues fingerpicking down yet I guess, but he is still adept at singing the blues.
Halfway through, he comments that he doesn't know the words to this one, and a voice (Dava?) says "make 'em up." That's when Beck does the "glory to His children" verse, which is not a part of Blind Willie's "Bye and Bye." I am not sure if this is from another blues song (sounds likely), or not.
