Lyrics:
I Threw It All Away (Take 1) [Version (a)]:

I once held her in my arms
She said that she would always stay
I Threw It All Away (Take 2) [Version (b)]:

Once I held her in my arms
She said that she would always stay
I was cruel
I treated her like a fool
I threw it all away

Once I had mountains in the palm of my hand
Rivers that ran every day
I must've been mad
Didn't see what I had
Till I threw it all away

Love is all there is
It makes the world go round
Love and only love
It can't be denied
No matter what you think about it
You know you just can't live without it
Take a tip from one who tried

So if you find someone
Who gives you all of her love
Take it to your heart
Don't let it stray
One thing's for certain
You surely will be hurtin'
If you throw it all
Throw it all
Throw it all

The Song:

This is a Bob Dylan song from his album Nashville Skyline.

On an early tape of what seems to be a small gathering of friends in a room to sing songs, Beck tries "I Threw It All Away" a couple of times.

Early on the tape, Beck strums his guitar for awhile before singing the first two lines of the song.

A little later, Beck completes a nice enough version of the song, though a friend who is there sneezes and coughs all throughout it.

Also on this same tape, Beck does two other songs from the same Dylan album, "Country Pie" and "Tell Me That It Isn't True."
