Lyrics:Send A Message To Her [Version (a)]:
Get up, son, hit your head like a drum
Weeds are all growin' in vain
Too much time, IĀ got too much time
Living in a waste of space
Take yourself, don't break yourself
It's all gonna be okay
Get used to it, don't lose your head
It's all gonna be the same
She knows
Send a message to her
She knows
She knows
Get a message to her
She knows
Na na na na na na
Send a message to her
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Send a message to her
Na na na na na na
Now kill it dead, but don't let it die
There's a price sittin' on your head
Face it down, don't turn it around
Unless you want to be where you've been
Take yourself, don't break yourself
It's all gonna be okay
Get used to it, don't lose your head
It's all gonna be the same
She knows
Send a message to her
She knows
She knows
Get a message to her
She knows
Na na na na na na
Send a message to her
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Send a message to her
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Send a message to her
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Send a message to her
Na na na na na na
I spell out my name
In cigarettes and knives
Trying to see her
Give her a message
On a dirty window
Trying to see her
I've been stripping the days
Off the sidewalk and pavement
The walls are all white
And we're painting them whiter
For the zigzag mainline
My radio's plastic
And I've tasted the fodder
Of a saccharine ending
Day job, pay phone, one in a trillion
And the typecast heathen
With a future all rancid
Something to believe
Something to believe
Something to believe
Something to believe
That nothing hurts your feelings
The Song:"Send A Message To Her" is a bonus track from the deluxe version of
Guero. It is a fun, constantly changing track, with a lot of different sections to it.
Lyrically, it feels pretty sparse to me, Beck stringing a lot of couplets together. There's a lot of hopelessness in the song: weeds grow in vain, waste of space, painting white walls whiter, day jobs, rancid futures. There is not much more to add to it all than that.

Beck, announcing they had just begun rehearsing this song, played "Send A Message To Her" for the first time on May 29, 2005. He did it a few other times that summer.
Then once in the fall of 2005 and again a full year later in fall of 2006.
Notes:
- This song was originally entitled "Dance." That title hit some press reports, but it has been changed.
- The line about the painting the white walls whiter originally showed up in "Bloodless."
