Lyrics:Doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo
Black hearts in effigy
We sing a song that was hated
All dressed in rag and bones
Sharks smell the blood that I'm bleedin'
I know there's something wrong
Might take a fire to kill it
Might take a hurricane
Don't know what life that I'm livin'
Ohh ohh oh black tambourine
Ohh ohh oh black tambourine
My baby run to me
She lives in broken-down buildings
Can't pay the rent again
These spider webs are my home now
And when the sun is down
We'll shake and rattle our bodies
To keep it warm at night
My tambourine is still shaking
Doo doo doo doo
Ohh ohh oh black tambourine
Ohh ohh oh black tambourine
Doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo
Black hearts in effigy
We sing a song that was hated
All dressed in rag and bones
Sharks smell the blood that I'm bleedin'
I know there's something wrong
Might take a fire to kill it
Might take hurricane
Don't know what life that I'm livin'
Ohhhhh
Black tambourine
Ohh ohh oh black tambourine
Doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo
Ohh ohh oh black tambourine
Ohh ohh oh black tambourine
Doo doo doo doo
Black tambourine
Black tambourine
Black tambourine
The Song:This trippy version of "Black Tambourine" was a remix by Beck's keyboardist, Brian LeBarton (Tron). He also did
another remix of the song. Neither were released commercially, but Tron shared them on his Myspace and/or some of the Beck online communities.
Further, a few years later, while touring behind Beck in Japan, Tron used the name The Admirals again. Beck's backing band (Tron, Jessica Dobson, Bram Inscore and Joey Waronker) played a show in Japan without Beck under the name. Perhaps, like Wounded Cougar did, there will be some more recordings!
