Lyrics:Eye In The Sky [Version (a)]:
[Verse 1]
Don't say words you're gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
I've heard the accusation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing
[Chorus]
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more to know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind
[Verse 2]
Don't leave false illusion behind
Don't cry, cause I ain't changing my mind
So find another fool like before
Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing
Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving
[Chorus]
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see anymore to know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see anymore to know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind
The Song:In September of 2020, Beck posted a very short instagram clip of some music playing out of a speaker; the lyrics were enough to identify it as a cover of Alan Parsons Project's "Eye In The Sky." There was no reason given for the cover.
The original version of the song can be found on Alan Parson Project' 1982 album of the same name.
But then in the spring of 2022, the track was released on Awolnation's album
My Echo, My Shadow, My Covers & Me. The album is all cover songs by Awolnation, but every song has a feature guest. Beck featured on their cover of "Eye in the Sky." There aren't credits for the song that I am aware of, but it appears to me that Beck did some harmony vocals (unknown if he added any instruments too).
