Lyrics:
Uneventful Days [Version (a)]:

Uneventful days, uneventful nights
Living in the dark, waiting for the light
Caught up in these neverending battle lines
Everything has changed and nothing here feels right

I know I know I know I know
I know I know it's gone
I know
I know I know it's gone
Ooh yea

Neverending days, neverending nights
Everything I say, I know I can't get right
It means infinitely more to me than life
You might know my name, you don't know my mind

I don't even know what's wrong (the days without you)
Ever since you've been gone
Only ten minutes ago (leave me cold and alone)
I don't even know now
Everything that went wrong (find my way without you)
I don't know where you belong (no)
I don't want to hurt you (no no no)
I don't want to let you go (gonna leave me alooone)

Uneventful days, uneventful nights
Living in the dark, waiting for the light
Nothing you could say could make it come to life
I don't have a way to make you change your mind

I know I know I know I know
I know I know it's gone
I know
I know I know it's gone
Yea

Neverending days, neverending nights
Time is moving slow, I don't even mind
It means infinitely more to me than life
Got nowhere to go, got no will to fight

Haven't said a word now
Money getting thin now, meanwhile
Had another round of drink now
Nothing but a low down let down
You better not get down, left out
What am I really damn thinking about?
Been in and out of love all night

Neverending days, neverending nights
Everything I do, you know I don't do right (days)
I've been waiting around all night

Yea yea yea yea
Days
Yea yea
Yea yea
Days

The Song:

This is the second song on Beck's 2019 album, Hyperspace.

Beck talked about the origins of the song, which seem to have come from Pharrell first, and then Beck gave it some emotion:

"I did a song for N.E.R.D. and Pharrell had this song. It reminded me of a modern version of YMO [Yellow Magic Orchestra], that Japanese band. I had to sing it and write it a lot of times to try to find the voice. The song was a bit like somebody who is a bit isolated. It's like those moments in life at the aftermath of a period of time when you're about to go into a new period of time. A new job in a new town. You're standing in an empty apartment looking out a window at a palm tree. That kind of feeling. Once I found that, the song wrote itself." [Beats 1 interview, 10/17/2019]

Lyrically, Beck told the Kyle Meredith podcast that it explored a "where do we go from here?" mood, and he called the song on Sirius a "siren song in a day of traffic."
