Lyrics:Little White Dove [Version (a)]:
Was it a dream under the holy cross
In the valley below?
A mother and child emergency
Behind a yellow curtain on the second floor
All the guardian angels at the door
With their long white coats and their stethoscopes
In the middle of love
I’m a little white dove
I’m the heroine
In the middle of love
I’m a little white dove yea
In the middle of love
I’m a little white dove yea
Was it a dream
When you called me 'kitten' and 'her majesty'?
I’m your blood, I want more
The water from my eyes fell to the floor
In the middle of love
I’m a little white dove yea
I’m the heroine
In the middle of love
I’m a little white dove yea
Hungry eyes watching over you
Petty crimes are the family jewels
We’re living our lives
And it’s happening over and over again
Was it a dream
Under the holy cross in the valley below?
A mother and child eternity
Under a cool white sheet
Here we go
In the middle of love
I’m a little white dove yea
I’m the heroine
In the middle of love
I’m a little white dove yea
I’m the heroin
In the middle of love
I’m a little white dove
In the middle of love
I’m a little white dove
In the middle of love
In the middle of love
The Song:"Little White Dove" is a song by Jenny Lewis from her 2019 album
On The Line. Beck produced the song, and performs/sings on it (alongside two of his long-time guitarists, Smokey Hormel and Jason Falkner).
In the summer of 2018, Jenny posted some snippets of the song from the studio, mentioning Beck, which was our first indication he was working with her on this record. In the end, three of the songs on the album were produced by Beck.
