Lyrics:
I'm So Green [Version (a)]:

Open up the window, jumpin' scene
Just like a movie with no screen
Smiling face like a ghost
Close your eyes like nobody
Close your eyes, no personality
When I'm with you, I feel so great
Close your eyes, bring it back
Put it in your hair

Yes I feel everything
I'm so green, I'm so green
Yes I feel everything you said
Yes I feel it's been said

Got a devils haircut in my mind
Got a devils haircut in my mind
Got a devils haircut in my mind
Got a devils haircut in my mind
Got a devils haircut in my mind
Got a devils haircut in my mind
Got a devils haircut in my mind
Got a devils haircut in my mind

I'm so green
?
?? all night
??
???
??
???

Yes I feel everything
I'm so green, I'm so green
Yes I feel everything you said
Yes I feel it's been said

The Song:

"I'm So Green" is a recording Beck made for a Can tribute album. The album was produced by the Dust Brothers, though Beck did not record his cover with them. He had done it early in his career (early '90s) and had it laying around, and gave it to them. Unfortunately, it is still laying around, as the album never got off of the ground. For a short while (starting in April 1998) you could listen to a 60-second loop of Beck's track at the Dust Brothers' website. I don't think very many people have heard the full version of Beck's cover.

Can was a pioneer experimental (Krautrock) band from the 70s. "I'm So Green" is a funky song that appeared on their 1972 album, Ege Bamyasi. Check 'em out; they're an incredible group of musicians.

The circulating version of Beck's cover is not the complete track. It is that one-minute loop from the Dust Brothers' site long ago, but it has been rebuilt into a three-minute version. You get the verse and chorus, cycled through three times, before it fades out. It sounds like a full song! But it's not exactly. Better than nothing, I guess! :-)

UPDATE: In Dec 2012, it was discovered that the full version of the song was played on KCRW in 1997. The producer of the tribute album took the track and played it there. 15 years later, it was noticed that the show he was on was archived on their website.

And yes, it's got the chorus of "Devils Haircut" jammed in the middle.
