The Song:At the end of 2011, Beck registered a song called "City Of Refuge in the ASCAP copyright database. That's all I know about it.
"City Of Refuge" is an old blues song. I think it was first done by Blind Willie Johnson (who also did the first "Nobody's Fault But Mine" and a lot of other monumental blues songs). Beck around this time seems to have recorded a bunch of songs with blues titles: "City Of Refuge," "Jacksontown," "Iron Horse," etc. I think it possible that he did them all for soundtracks, but not all were ended up used. ("Iron Horse" was; the others are unheard.)
