Lyrics:
Circulation [Version (a)]:

Perfect lights are backwards
Refracted cries
Needle hits black lacquer
Speakers forgive lies
I'm not running away
Circulation makes her crazy
She's not here to stay
She just came by to shoot you, baby

Perfect lights are backwards
Refracted cries
Needle hits white lacquer
Speakers forgive lies
I'm not running away
Circulation makes her crazy
She's not here to stay
She just came by to shoot you, baby

The Song:

Thurston Moore's 2011 solo album, Demolished Thoughts, was produced by Beck. It was recorded in Beck's home studio, which is called The Library. Beck is also credited on "additional arrangments," and playing the synths, some bass, and background vocals on the album. Beck's current rhythm section, Joey Waronker and Bram Inscore, also play throughout the record.

"Circulation" is the third track on Demolished Thoughts. Thurston Moore wrote a less-than-serious track-by-track guide, and this is what he wrote about "Circulation":

On day three I played the third song, “Circulation”, while sitting in the middle seat in the front of a 1978 AMC Pacer with Sparks’ Russell Mael driving, Ron Mael with his window closed (it was 103 degrees out) constantly fiddling with the side-view mirror. Beck was in the back holding a shotgun mic and recording the basic track, already pre-recorded, as it played through the Pacer’s sick system, while I sang live the lyrics, trying to focus on the lust-rust blood scent of a city girl on a holy other coast.

"Circulation" is a little more intense than the first two pretty tracks, but follows a similar pattern: Beck continues to fill out Thurston's acoustic songs with an expert's touch. "Circulation" ends with a violin-build reminiscent to the one on "Lonesome Tears."
