"Until The Last Moment" is a track from Yanni's album, Yanni Live At The Acropolis. Beck and his fifth Record Club project covered the album in its entirety.
The original track by Yanni is a meditative piano piece, but with some orchestra strings to add some drama.
Beck and Thurston Moore and a handful of studio musicians both mimic the original well, and make it their own. That is, it ends up sounding like a Sonic Youth song, with Yanni guesting on piano. Thurston acts as the string section by playing with his electric guitar pedals and effects, the keyboardist follows Yanni's original (not exactly but in general), the drummer and bassist go wild. Beck shreds a little on his own electric guitar.
