Lyrics:
New Sensation [Version (a)]:

Live baby live
Now that the day is over
I got a new sensation
In perfect moments
It's so impossible to refuse
Hey now

Sleep baby sleep
Now that the night is over
And the sun comes like a god
Into our rooms
All perfect light and promises
Hey now

Gonna take you on a new sensation
Right now
A new sensation
Gonna take you on a new sensation
A new sensation

Love baby love
It's written all over your face
There's nothing better
We could do
Than live forever
Well that's all we've got to do
Hey now

Dream baby dream
It's written all over your face
There's nothing better
We can do
Than live forever
Well that's all we've got to do
Hey now

Gonna take you on a new sensation
A new sensation
Right now
Gonna take you on a new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
Right now
A new sensation
A new sensation

A new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
A new sensation
Right now

The Song:

"New Sensation" is a lightly funky rock song by INXS on their 1987 album, Kick. Beck and his fourth Record Club covered the album in its entirety.

The original song sounds a bit dated now, with its '80s synthesizer, sax riffs, and processed drums. But the Record Club strip it all down into a narcoleptic haze. Angus from Liars and Annie from St. Vincent sing lead, while Beck and Sergio Dias from Os Mutantes sing back-up harmonies.

The Record Club track begins with a snippet of INXS' original (as the musicians listen to it, remembering its awesomeness) and then there's another snippet of Brian LeBarton playing 80s style synthesizers as the musicians figure out what to do to the song.
