| Here's the Echo In The Canyon story.
In 2015, Beck appeared at a tribute concert to the '60s Los Angeles music scene (2 shows in one night), more or less hosted by Jakob Dylan and a house band with a bunch of revolving singers duetting with Jakob. Beck did 2 songs, both older songs that The Byrds covered ("Goin' Back" and "The Bells of Rhymney"). After that, there was some hint that a tribute CD was coming out afterwards. But for quite some time, there was no news about it, except at some point they did put out the Cat Power song as a single. Finally in the end of 2018, a documentary film called Echo In The Canyon came out which was about the '60s music scene, told through interviews with current artists (including Beck!). Then in May 2019, the soundtrack to the documentary made it on to Spotify. Beck's two songs had been recorded in the studio with Dylan and the band and both appear on the soundtrack. (There's also many new artists who weren't at the show, like Norah Jones, Neil Young, and some others). | ||
