A pretty fun show, with Beck in a bit of a goofy mood, and the band sounding kind of rowdy.
The opening 3 tracks are clearly a popular way to start a show with maximum energy and audience love. "Devils Haircut has the band doing all sorts of subtle things, background vocls, little effects, riffs, all within the usual "DH" framework. "Nausea" sounds totally wild and huge.
The show then settles into a somewhat hyper set, where they just do short versions of a number of songs -- the first and only live "This Girl That I Know" ever leads into a short "Hell yes" and then a short "Cellphone's Dead" and a short "Sexx Laws."
"Motorcade" and "Broken Drum" sound nasty, in a good way. Highlight of the show.
Beck kind of mutates the melody of "Lost Cause" a bit. Then he raises a toast to the fine city of Osaka, and sings a verse of some new song. Then he does an acoustic version of "Lonesome Tears," in which the band sings gospel acapella harmony.
"The Golden Age" starts, and then turns into Pixies' "Wave Of Mutilation," which then becomes Beck impressively singing "The Golden Age" to the melody of "Wave Of Mutilation." He then adds a little "Sunday Morning." Very cool, it's not a melody exactly, it's more like all the songs blended together.
