Notes:
This was another tour kick-off show in a club in Hollywood was announced the morning before the show, right before tickets went on sale.
The esteemed Wounded Cougar opened, destroying souls and causing panties to be dropped. Their brand of loony energy carried over into Beck's set, which was one of the more electric sets I've seen him give, musically. While there are some reviews online about how listless Beck himself was, the set and band were on fire. The crowd was not only excited, but eager to hear the new music (The Information came out one week later) and this excitement was given back by the band.
I got lucky to get tickets; the relatively small club sold out very fast. I remember "Motorcade" flooring me completely, as well as being impressed by "Elevator Music" and the fun mashup jam at the end. Despite the reviews of others out there, I will defend this one as one of my favorite Beck concerts I've seen. (And I've seen a lot.)
