Notes:
This warm-up show was originally a "secret" show, open only to Pomona College students. It was later announced/opened to the genral public.
Show #21 of the Sea Change tours.
Show #1 of Beck/Flaming Lips tour.
Everything before "The Golden Age" was part of Beck's solo acoustic set.
Everything after "The Golden Age" was with the Lips (except "Nobody's Fault").
All songs tour debuts.
After a few weeks of rehearsing together, this was the first public performance. They're still working a few things out, it seems, but fairly successful show with a number of gorgeous moments ("Jack-ass," "Pay No Mind," "End of the Day").; First time Beck used the half-solo/half-band arrangement of "The Golden Age."; Songs that hadn't been played in awhile were "Lord Only Knows" and "Get Real Paid."; Only "Sissyneck" on the first leg of the tour; Debut band versions of "Paper Tiger" and "Little One."; "Jack-ass" has a few Spanish lines in it ("Burro").; Despite Beck's comments that he'd never played "Get Real Paid" or "Paper Tiger" before, he had. (Makes sense he wouldn't remember the one other PT, but GRP was off and on during the Vultures tours.); "Round the Bend" is an interesting closing song, especially after a fairly lengthy "Where It's At" jam.
