Date: October 18, 2002
Leg: Sea Change Tour with Flaming Lips, First Leg
Venue: Chicago Theatre
City: Chicago
State: Illinois
Country: United States
Notes:
Show #23 of the Sea Change tours.
Show #3 of Beck/Flaming Lips tour.
Everything before "The Golden Age" was part of Beck's solo acoustic set.
Everything after "The Golden Age" was with the Lips (except "Nobody's Fault").
Tour debut of "Loser."
Very pretty "Guess I'm Doing Fine."; Like he did the night before in Minneapolis, "Sunday Morning" was sung on the robot microphone. The second and final time he did it this way.; Slightly new arrangement of "Loser" debuted tonight, led by Beck jamming on slide guitar. The song would continue for the rest of the Beck/Lips shows.; As usual, "Get Real Paid" is a highlight of the evening--you can tell the Lips love this one!
Apologies to anyone in Chicago, but this show is for completists only, really. Nothing unique about it, and the sound quality of the boot (a bit muffled, somewhat distant) means that this show isn't very essential.
