Notes:
The two Wiltern shows were just two of a very small handful of Mutations tour shows in the United States. And a few of those were more upbeat Odelay-style sets. These two though was Mutations-focused and chill.
I went to this show, my fifth Beck concert at the time. Beck shows in LA, especially these slightly "bigger" ones, that are promoted, are really fun, and the comfort of the hometown crowd always makes Beck even more relaxed.
I recall Beck telling a very long story about "Lampshade," a song he's never played often. "Girl Dreams" as well is relatively unique. The full band "Rowboat" is also noteworthy, and fit in great with the Mutations tracks.
Beck used an expanded band - besides just the main live group, DJ Swamp, the Brass Menagerie, a pedal steel guitarist, two string players, and a couple of (unknown) sitar players (on "Nobody's Fault").
