Notes:
This show was a few months after Mutations was recorded (but before it was released) and a few months before he officially began recording Midnite Vultures. So the shows are pure, not plugging anything in particular, with a cool mix of wild and calm songs.
This show in particular though definitely lacks in the usual Beck energy. Overall, Beck sounds a little tired. His raps on "Loser" and "Novacane" are very laidback, and so is his "One Foot," not in a bad way, just not as jump-around-intense as usual. His between-song talk isn't as rowdy as normal either.
Highlights are the "Lord Only Knows," the sensual 9-minute "Debra" (which includes some adlibs about crying realistic tears), a relaxing "Cold Brains" with his band.
Unlike the show a few nights before, this one had an acoustic set, from "One Foot" to "Truckdrivin," including a rare "Girl Dreams" at the request of a young lady he met before the show.
