Notes:
Lowlands is a three-day festival. The first two nights were headlined by Soundgarden and Underworld, and looking at the schedule (see below), Beck headlined the third. This is definitely one of his first "top of the main stage" festival appearances. The main stage on Sunday had a crazy lineup too: Green Day, Radiohead, Throwing Muses, and Foo Fighters all preceded Beck (in that order!).
This is easily one of the best sounding bootlegs from 1995, so is a great document, especially of his band at the time.; Beck introduces an almost-incoherent "Motherfuker" as "Frequent Flyer."; After the two opening punk songs, the following full-band "Pay No Mind" also sounds more vicious than usual.; Beck does "Truckdrivin," "Puttin It Down," and "Alcohol" solo acoustic.; Tonight the chorus of "Loser" hits all sorts: "Soy un perdidor / I'm a broken record, doo doo doo doo / I'm a wooden nickel."; Early versions of "Minus" are messy, but fun.; Sound quality turns all metallic and thin for "Beercan" unfortunately--still a fun song.; Might be the best recording of the mammoth slow metal sludge of "Jimmy Carter."
