Date: August 3, 1995
Leg: Lollapalooza
Venue: Charles Town Races
City: Charles Town
State: West Virginia
Country: United States
Notes:
Beck comes out to announce "we're pimpin' rock today," and then I guess they do. The sound quality on this 1995 tape is pretty decent, one of the better Lollapalooza tour documents, for sure.
As usual for this summer tour, Beck previews "Novacane" and "Where It's At" which won't be released until June, 1996.
"Loser" seems really fast and comes off all psychedelic. Beck doesn't sing the chorus the same way twice, he's a shiny nickel (in a slot machine), a penny, a broken record, and a testtube baby.
This is one of the last live "Blackhole"s. About a minute into it, Beck stops it and gets the crowd some water (probably pretty hot in WV in the summer). They then pick up the song again, as if nothing happened. It's huge and awesome and I miss this song. "Don't pass out!" Beck tells the audience.
"Beercan" is announced as "Funky Cold Medina."
