Notes:
Tonight was the 4th show of the Night Running tour with Cage the Elephant and Spoon.
A big portion of the show is on Youtube, and also a complete audio recording bootleg is out there.
The only real song change from the first 3 shows is that Beck replaced "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime" with "Debra" as his solo acoustic song. (And of course the cover song section from 'Where It's At' fluctuates every night.) Matt Shultz did join them during that part for to duet on the Cage/Beck collaboration "Night Running."
After "Debra," Beck gathers everyone to do their 'acoustic set' and play "Lost Cause." Then Beck tells a story about how they'd watched the sunset at the beach and the vibe reminded them of a song. They then start a song... then stop after 10 seconds, with Beck saying none of them know how to sing it. (I also think they were pressed for time.) I cannot tell what song they attempted there; feels like it might be a cover? After that song was abandoned, Beck strummed a little Mississippi John Hurt real quick as the band returned to their positions.
I was at this show! I'm not the biggest fan of "Black Tambourine," but I loved this version -- it's noisier and more atmospheric and roars. Also loved the "Wow" a lot.
