This was a Grammys' MusiCares tribute concert. Bob Dylan was the person of the year, and the show was dedicated to him (i.e., everyone played his songs, and he gave a speech.)
Beck performed first, opening the show. He didn't use the house band, but his own (Smokey, Justin, Roger, Joey, Jason). Jenny Lewis also sang backup.
The tickets were very expensive, and it was basically a black tie event.
Beck performed "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat" from Dylan's Blonde On Blonde album, and which Beck recorded at Dylan's request for a charity album a few years prior.
Other performers included: Aaron Neville, Alanis Morissette, Los Lobos, Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, John Mellencamp, Jack White, Tom Jones, Norah Jones, John Doe, Bonnie Raitt, Crosby Stills & Nash, Sheryl Crow, Bruce Springsteen, Garth Brooks, Neil Young. Quite a lineup! There were even more big stars in the audience.
