Notes:
Opening night of the Morning Phase tour, kicking off a short leg through the southwest United States.
Live debuts of "Blackbird Chain" and "Country Down," as well as a new arrangement of "Gamma Ray."
The show began with 9 "acoustic" songs (though with the full band), before kicking into the rock festival portion of the set.
I was at the show, and at the time my favorites were the "Paper Tiger," "Soldier Jane," and "Country Down." Listening to the bootleg now, a month later, I have some different standouts: "Blue Moon" was expertly done, "Hotwax" was pure joy. "Modern Guilt" was nailed.
I really dig how they stuck "Wave" into the middle of the hits too. This was just the first show of the tour, and later shows sometimes kept the quiet Morning Phase stuff separate from the hits, but tonight, they were mixed together.
