Lyrics:
6.4=Makeout [Version (a)]:

from Gary Wilson's original

6.4 equals make out
Gonna get ya now
6.4 equals make out
?
6.4 equals MAKE OUT
?
6.4 equals, equals make out, equals make out
Hey when I called you last night
You said you'd be at the party
When I got there, you weren't there
What are you trying to do to me?
Put me on a sick trip or something?
You know something?
I don't kiss on the first date
I know you're aware of that
Hey baby, you're everything to me
Did I ever tell you
I got a real crush on Karen?

6.4 now equals make out, equals make out, equals make out
Hey 6.4, 6.4 equals make out, equals make out
Hey babe I'm not too sure
??
6.4, 6.4 = make out = MAKE OUT
How old'd you say you were? 16?
6.4 equals make out, equals make out
6.4!

She's a real groovy girl
And she's got red lips
Yea she's a real groovy girl
And she's got red lips
She's a real groovy girl
And she's got red lips
Hey she's real
Can't you hear me God?
She's a real groovy girl
And she's got red lips
She's real
She's so real!
She's so real!
Oh she's so real!
God damn!
She's so real!
She is so real!
She's real
Can't you hear me?
Can't you hear me?
Can't you hear me?
She's real
She's real
She's real
She's real
She's real

The Song:

The original version of this song was by Gary Wilson, who of course was name-checked in "Where It's At." Wilson made an obscure outsider-music independent album, You Think You Really Know Me way back in the '70s. Beck heard it and was taken by it. (Gary Wilson's more recent remergence was in part due to Ross Harris.)

Anyway, in 1998, it was rumored that Beck's cover of "6.4 = Makeout," a song from Wilson's album, was going to appear on the soundtrack to the movie Meet The Deedles. I do not believe the song was ever released, if it was indeed recorded. (Of which I am doubtful.)

The IMDB still lists the song as being on the movie's soundtrack here, which is incorrect. (UPDATE in 2013: I just looked, and IMDB no longer lists it; unsure when they changed their info.)

Beck does vaguely reference the song at the end of "Hollywood Freaks."

2006 UPDATE: Justin Meldal-Johnsen confirms that this was in fact not ever recorded. The rumor was just that, completely made up.

I should probably remove this page, but I'll leave it in case anyone wonders about the rumor.
