I Ain't Mad, I'm Only Dead

The Song:

To make it feel more authentic, Beck filled out his Song Reader book with fragments of songs and melodies, and even fictional album collections and made-up song titles. The back of "Heaven's Ladder" lists a collection of "songs from the afterlife" called Ye Midnight Stars, and this is one of the songs on it.

Many of the titles throughout the book are references to older sheet music/songs, but the ones on Ye Midnight Stars are mostly humorous phrases involving death, heaven, gospel music, etc. I did not see this phrase related to any old sheet music (though research did keep turning up sheet music for the Tupac Shakur track "I Ain't Mad At Cha").
