On the back of "Saint Dude," there is an album listed called Male Quartette Collection, the greatest book ever compiled. "Whispering Hope" is listed as part of that.
Many of the song titles of this collection are references to older sheet music-era songs, and this is no exception. However, there seems to have been at least 3 different sheet music songs called "Whispering Hope." This isn't unusual, if a song got popular back then, there would often be immediate "knock-offs" of a sort, songs with the same name to fool people into buying it instead.
